Djibouti Spring season 2025: FIRST WEEK

The first week of our Djibouti season kicked off with strong winds and good fishing.

Our opening group was an international mix of passionate anglers from Poland, the UK, and Spain. As we set sail from the port aboard our elegant and charming Turkish gulet Elegante, excitement filled the air—along with high hopes for an unforgettable week on the water.

From the very first day, we began hooking solid numbers of GTs, both on popping and jigging. As the days went on, it became clear that jigging was delivering the most consistent results.

GT fishing was the highlight of the week, while other species were a bit more elusive. That said, we still managed to spot the occasional smaller yellowfin tuna, some solid grouper, and a few good-sized king mackerel to round things out.

By the end of the week, we had landed an impressive number of GTs—giving us a strong boost of confidence for another epic season in Djibouti.
