Unveiling the Riches of Djibouti.

Located in the Horn of Africa, It also has a coastline along the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, Djibouti has always been a destination we visited occasionally but never fully committed to it. However, over the years, as we explored more, we began to recognize its potential.

This spring marked a turning point. We brought our mother boat and crew from Sudan, packed in five weeks of back-to-back fishing trips, and were ready to dive in fully. Armed with our extensive GT fishing experience from the region, we navigated our way into the Djibouti season.

The weather at the start of the season was unpredictable, with frequent rain. Fortunately, this did not impact the fishing. We experienced a mix of good and slow days, but when the fishing was good, it was excellent.

It quickly became clear that Djibouti is a tidal fishery, requiring constant adjustments in our guiding routines. Having a mother boat operation greatly facilitated our efforts, allowing us to easily explore new areas.

The thrill of battling big fish from the rocks added to the excitement. Along the way, we made some remarkable catches, appealing to anglers interested in more than just GT fishing. We landed giant Mahi Mahi, an impressive Barracuda, numerous large Red Snappers, groupers, mackerel, and several sizeable Napoleons.

Djibouti boasts spectacular locations with breathtaking views, from wild, life-rich seas to challenging yet beautiful shore fishing spots.

This season in Djibouti showcased the area's true potential and reinforced our commitment to making it a key destination in our fishing adventures. From breathtaking views to unforgettable fishing experiences, Djibouti revealed to us that sometimes the hidden gems we overlook are precisely the ones, we truly need.
