First week on the Nubian flats North Sudan

Wild Sea Expedition - First week on the Nubian flats North Sudan

Our season 2023 started with a moderate north wind that turned into 30 knots of strong wind, and it was blowing that hard without slowing down for full three days. Our clients had a tough fishing on the Nubian flats. Not only it was hard to cast but a lot of water was murky and cold. Despite this unusual wind, in most of our itinerary we found that triggerfish were still happy to stay on the flats and not only that, we saw many GT in shallows, bonefish, but unfortunately luck was not on our side to land them.

Still we landed a good number of fish with decent variety of species and sizes that made this trip fun for our clients. Special catch was a beautiful golden trevally on the flats for our client Eugene.

Fish landed

  • Barracuda (3)

  • Snapper (6)

  • Grouper (29)

  • Emperor (2)

  • Skip Jack Tuna (1)

  • GT (5)

  • Golden trevally (1)

  • Bluefin (18)

  • Orange Spot (6)

  • Titan (3)

  • Yellow margin (11)

Wild Sea Expedition

We are a small crew of young explorers who have been the first fishing through a number of areas over the Red Sea (Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti), the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean (Yemen, Somaliland) to discover places outside of the touristic route.
