Socotra popping Report, October Standard Trip

The first week was followed still followed by some Monsoon wind that was slowing down, and the excitement to hit the water was at its peak! For a few days, the guys had to fish a sheltered area with the decent result and some good fish landed, and as the sea calmed down our first group hit the spots, and rock and roll started - HARD. Bait was plentiful and big GTs were crazy aggressive, smashing lures left and right.

Our Tai guest had their hands full with fighting trophy fish all the time in a place where you can lose them easily because of the rocks. That eventually cost them a lot of big fish, but they were able to land three  50kg GT and some fish over 40kg, plus some other various species, not bad for three anglers.

Combine this fishing with the beautiful setting that Socotra offers to her visitors, a feeling of adventure in a truly special place...it doesn't go better than that for our guests.

Our season started with this trip, promising us another legendary run for the big GT of Socotra

Dear Anglers,

for the end of this report, we are happy to announce that we are ready to start reservations for 2024 in Socotra.

After 2022 our team decided to challenge itself in managing this place differently than every other sportfishing operation, despite the huge requests we are receiving, we will run only 8 popping weeks each year with only 8 guests per trip, with an international professional fishing guide every 2 anglers.

Thanks to the unique quantity of fish and the number of fishing spots, our destination will remain virtually virgin year after year, in a world where every destination is getting more and more overfished, we’ll be able to provide a truly unique fishing and travel experience.
