Socotra Popping Report, October Extreme Itinerary - 3

The last trip of this 2022 season started with big excitement because we finally had warm weather, and from the morning as we would enter the sea you could feel that the temperature went seriously up.

Sea was full of baitfish on the surface and fishing activity was exploding in some spots.

In one day one fisherman had 11 giant trevallies, from 25 to 50kg, the other boat next to him landed 4 and lost 4, it was that crazy. We finish with 4 GTs over 50kg, unfortunately, because we lost many gigantic fish in the process of fighting.

We had 16 fish over 40kg, and again a lot of by-catches but less than the last group because fishermen were focused more on GT fishing. Still, we had some tuna, mackerel, grouper, red snapper and other species

All and all a great week to end the season
