Socotra Popping Report, October Extreme Itinerary - 2

Our second group arrived composed of our old clients/friends, this expedition lasted for 12 days. The trip started very slow compared to normal cause the first week has been very cold, but then the temperature picked up and we started to have conditions closer to normal. That reflected in fishing as we started to see more bait fish like fusiliers and fishing action after those days would pick up significantly.

We would land 11 GTs of 40kg but this trip was definitely marked by an incredible 152cm giant trevally, an absolute beast landed by Andreas who also landed another 50 KG only the day after. This was truly his trip. It's important to point out that those two big fish were not the only 50kg-plus GT landed. The total for this trip was 4 - 50kg plus GT landed, and some very big ones lost!

The cherry on top was two days of crazy 150 mackerel strikes, complete chaos on the boats as the fish would jump everywhere, even in and over the boats! Yellowfin Tuna numbers dropped compared to the last trip, so we caught 2 - 40,45 kg, Grouper of 17 kg on topwater, big Golden Trevally on stickbait, wahoos, and jigging was incredible with some big emperors, different groupers, and other minor trevallies.
