Sudan, Deep South Week 2

The second week we have with us a hosted trip with Meredith McCord with a group of 5 experienced anglers ready to explore the Red Sea.

We started the week fishing a small island for only half a day since in the afternoon we would sail towards the Deep South although that morning we had enough activity landing few triggers and spotting geets on the flat.

The triggers this week were very spooky and the fishing was tough for them we lost many and they were shy of our flies although we always found the key for the day and at the end we caught 56 and one of the guest was able to do a super grand slam landing four different species of trigger in one day (titan, yellow margin, picasso and orange line).

If we talk about geets and Bluefins we had great numbers, Meredith landed two nice gts over 80 and 90cm one of them with a 9wt and on the Nubian Spaghetti fly pattern, all the guest had a gt and many shots and we landed 9, fishing for bluefin was crazy, we found two reefs full of them and in only two days we landed 95 with few Bluefins over 7-8kg so we made great numbers.

We landed more species on the fly like two dogtooth tuna, silky sharks, groupers, barracuda, trumpet fish... and the guest enjoyed fishing on some of the most remote islands in southern Sudan.

Wild Sea Expedition

We are a small crew of young explorers who have been the first fishing through a number of areas over the Red Sea (Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti), the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean (Yemen, Somaliland) to discover places outside of the touristic route.
