Sudan, Nubian Flats week 5

We finished another week at the Endless Flats Flats of Sudan, touring many km and several islands looking for giant triggerfish and of course for geets, the trip started with strong wind blowing but we managed these guys to put them in front of some aggressive triggers.

We were exploring new areas to find the biggest triggers in the world and we found them, we had some shots to very good fish although this time they won the battle losing some trigger over 70cm, many others destroyed our crabs with their aggressiveness and many other followed our flies for more than twenty times but we could catch ten between yellow margin and titan.

We had some good shots to few huge geets on the flats, fishes over 30kg on rays and free swimming on low water flat, making us run following the geet for more than four hundred meter to have a chance with the fish and at the end they refused the fly. At the end of the week we have a good opportunity with one geet being able to land it, was not a big fish but a geet it’s always a geet.

This week was onboard of another boat, the Felicidad, a very good boat to sail among the reef on the north, enjoying time with the guys and fishing during the night for groupers and barracudas around the boat.

Wild Sea Expedition

We are a small crew of young explorers who have been the first fishing through a number of areas over the Red Sea (Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti), the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean (Yemen, Somaliland) to discover places outside of the touristic route.
