Traveling with WSE equals adventure, exploring new places and memories for a lifetime! That is the reason I have been on several trips with this organization. Sudan, Gabon, Socotra, all remote destinations with excellent fishing.

The first week of Popping and Jigging started on the 14th of May with our good friend Alessandro Massari come back again to Sudan and some other anglers friends of us, the weather looked good but even too flat to find good action, in fact, the fishing started being tough with fish striking on small lures as expected with these calm conditions.

NUBIAN FLATS SEASON 2022

After the 2021 successful season that we run with new boats and itineraries, we are happy to announce the following dates for the 2022 season.

Perspective: Where are we again??

As guiding in South Africa goes, there is no formal training or ways to get into it, you just somehow land in the thick of it. It’s February, year number 5 and season number 15 or 16 guiding for African Waters, I think, somewhere around there and once again I found myself in an airport drinking terrible coffee and eating food that is probably laden with MSG’s, traveling to yet another far-flung African destination.

In December 2020 we spent two weeks in Sudan, with a multi-European group of anglers from Germany, Poland, France, Denmark, Italy, Croatia, and Norway. Fishing the famous Nubian Flats and the surrounding areas.

Trigger fishing continued to be very good this week, we find the flats full of these fish, very aggressive most of the time but usually it’s spooky so sometimes we have to make a long cast and perfect presentations, plenty of chances and all the guest have their trigger from each specie even the smaller ones and some special fish because for one of them was her first saltwater trip.

We are back from another amazing week in the Deep South of Sudan, we are honored to have with us this incredible group of nine anglers with whom we have fished some of the most pristine areas of the Red Sea. We had incredible weather during the whole trip with a north wind blowing and making the fish very active on the flat.

The seventh week started with amazing weather, not windy as usual so this time we were able to navigate quietly among the islands and reefs of North Sudan.

The exploration of Djibouti is a project that we carry on for a few years without a proper constancy because of our other commitment to our main destinations, but we do believe there is a high potential for fly fishing and to enjoy a unique fishery where challenge Napoleon Wrasse, GT, Triggerfish, and Queenfish.

During the 13 days between 6 and 20 March we had the pleasure to have on board of the motor sailing Elegante in the North itinerary our good friend Johan Person Frieberg, at his 4th visit in Sudan, and bunch of great guys and fly fisherman.
